Over fixed periods, we invite artists to keep a diary with us—through audio, text, video, image. They share textures, thoughts and experiences from that time. At the diary's close, our perfumer creates a fragrance—not as translation, but as portrait. A period in the artist's life, filtered through another's attention. The scent becomes an anchor, but not for preservation. For return. For continuation in another form.
Mara Corsino is a self-taught photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she moved to Italy in the 2000s and later began diving into photography in Milan in a non-linear way, following her curiosity to create a language of her own rather than pursuing formal education. Upon her return to America in 2012, she began exploring her definition of what it means to be Latina, leading to "Chicharrón," an ongoing project that began in 2018 documenting the spectrum of Latinx bodies. Her work is characterized by clean lines that embrace imperfections, tapping into her feminine gaze to bring out feminine qualities in her subjects. She focuses first on physicality and then colors outside the lines using her subjects' body language as a compass. Her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, T Magazine, Vogue Paris, W Magazine, and others, with clients including Calvin Klein, Coach, DKNY, and Acne Studios. She is also the creator of Haute Food, a publication celebrating the unity of gastronomy and fashion.
