The Asagimadara butterfly migrates 2,000 kilometers across Japan, navigating toward destinations programmed into its body but unknown to its individual consciousness. This two-part olfactive documentation, created for an exhibition on ecological preservation in Kyoto (2025), follows the journey. Minami captures the descent into Kyoto's temple gardens—humid air softening, mountain mist dissolving into moss and incense, the pause of arrival. Not the end, but a waypoint.
